Evangelism
We are committed to evangelism on our streets, community, and making Jesus known through word and deed. When we think about these words, the truth is we are called to live out the gospel in both word and deed. The apostle Paul tells the Colossians that whatever they do, whether in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him (Colossians 3:17).
We are reminded that we have been given the gifts and skills we need to share the gospel message with our neighbours and the people on our streets. Like many Christians, at times we struggles with Evangelism, because we do not believe that we are equipped for the work of ministry. I think we need to discover how to talk about Jesus in a marvellous, natural and engaging way, so that we can engage the hearts of the people. can I suggest that we start with our Coffee Morning to meet new people and express our deeds.
The apostle Paul tells us that;
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ'. Ephesians 4:11-12 (ESV).
It is a core principle of the Baptist Union to evangelise the world. As a local church, we would like to do this through both living and speaking the gospel. Castle Vale Baptist Church is committed to evangelism and making Jesus known through word and deed. Therefore, we see evangelism as getting on with life in such a way that gives people a chance to discover Jesus for themselves.
